Samsung Tocco – What’s Not To Love

As much as I love gadgets and trying them out, I’m going to
have a hard time giving you even the remotest chance of a fair review
here.  I love this phone and it may take
more than a fair amount of testing before I’ll feel differently.  What I’ve tried so far gives me nothing but
raves to work with so far.  Here’s what
I love about itÂ…

First of all, all I had to do was look at for the first time
and I already loved it.  Slick, sleek
and ultra-modern with a huge display screen and a smooth, shiny with a brushed
aluminum finish, I was already enamored with how easy it would be to carry
around and how much fun to use – and then I turned it on!

The view screen takes up most of the phone and measures 2.8
inches.  The first thing I noticed of
course was the richly colorful display, but what I found most cool about the
touch screen interface was the ability to drag and drop!  I know it sounds like a little thing to be
getting excited about, but I just can’t seem to help it.  I consider myself a power user and I’m
always looking for ways to increase my efficiency and to make my tasks and jobs
easier for myself, and drag and drop definitely increases my productivity.  There are widgets available that will allow
you to customize the applications to enhance the drag and drop experience.

The entire screen is touch screen, unlike some phones, and
the New Touch technology is specifically designed for the UK.  Partly what the New Touch technology offers
is what Samsung is calling digilog – digital plus analog.

And oh – the camera!
As someone who does photo editing, I need a camera with a high
resolution.  Often times by the time I’m
done cropping a picture if it’s not done in high resolution it’s little more
than useless to me.  Thankfully, I don’t
have that issue with this 5 megapixel camera powerhouse!  You have some of the standard features like
image stabilization and Power LED, and you also have some rock star
non-standard features like Multishot, Mosaicshot, Panorama and even a built in
smile detector.  Yes; you read that
correctly.  The camera looks for smiles
and will automatically trigger the shot when it detects them.  You can edit for photo effects right in your
camera for black and white, sepia and negative.

Video is superbly supported in this phone; practically the
only thing you can’t do is use it for wallpaper.  Again, you have some of the built in features we’ve come to think
of as standard, such as a front facing camera for video phone calls, messaging,
streaming and telephony.

The music player supports the top digital file formats, and
you’re unlikely to find that your music collection can’t be played on this
phone.  There is 233 megabytes of
onboard memory storage and a microSD slot for expansion.

I’m just starting to put this phone through the testing
phase, and I will be reporting again soon on what I’ve found , but I would
suggest that in the meantime you start looking for a service compatible with
this phone – because as soon as you try it out you’re going to be lusting after
one too!
